do you like living in imaginary world? do you have fun making characters of yourself and people around you? do you enjoy giving them qualities they don’t exhibit, taking away features they possess? do you know their real personalities? do you care? do you get confused between the characters you make and the real people upon interacting with them? what do you get from this shuffle? why do you play this game? is this a game?

You should rent "The Dreamers"
It's a really good movie about these three kids obsessed with movies (It's set in paris during the 1960s cinema riots) and how they're so used to living in these other words and living lives of make believe that their own lives become a sort of faux reality as well...they don't really know how to live a real life, just the imaginary one
It's not exactly what you're saying but your post made me think of the movie because I just saw it recently
i will definitely watch it in a near future. i did not know bertolucci is still making films. i never got to watch his movies (separate story) but if i like this one i may go back in time and watch his other ones.
I think The Dreamers came out about five years ago and I don't think he's done anything since, but he's actually not that old so there may be another movie left in him...you should really see this and Last Tango in Paris. I've heard that 1900, La Luna and Stealing Beauty are also really good but I haven't seen those yet.
